A Journey of Trauma, Tragedy, and Triumph
Inspired by his mother and his personal experiences with homelessness, addiction, and domestic violence, Rafael founded B-SAG to support others facing similar hardships. His early life was marked by adversity, but instead of letting these challenges define him, Rafael used them as a springboard to make a difference.
In 2013, Rafael was honored to serve as an ambassador for the 24th annual Festival of Trees benefiting the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, MD. This event successfully raised $1.1 million to support individuals with disabilities, further fueling Rafael’s passion for community service.
From his work in the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure office at the Department of Homeland Security to his position as senior security analyst for Department of Defense, Rafael has continually sought to protect and serve.
Having overcome his challenges and emerged successful with the help of shelter homes and non-profit organizations, as well as the kindness and support of countless compassionate individuals, Rafael is deeply driven to give back to society. Through B-SAG, he aims to help individuals experiencing similar struggles, ensuring they receive the same support that was pivotal in his own journey.
